Notes beginning Monday 1st April 2019

Ladies: Our adult ladies defeated St. Marys in a sun soaked Tulsk on Sunday in the Div 2 League.  With hour lost due to the clocks going forward the occasion was not lost on the ladies.  They stepped up to the task at hand and ensured that the specators were fully entertained with  a fine game of skillfull football. Credit to St. Marys and the ref, for a free flowing and exciting game.  Team and scorers as follows: A. Egan, C. Beirne N. O'Beirne, E. Feely, H. O'Dowd, E. McDermott, C. O'Dowd, A. O'Dowd(0-1), E. U16 girls will play Padraig Pearses on Sunday next at 4pm, venue to be decided.  Please make sure you are registered with the club.  Well done to Roscommon County U14 girls on their win on Sunday, they had 3 representatives from the club, Chloe & Michaela Dunne and Aisling Ryan. Congratulations to Ellis Conway on winning gold in the All Ireland Athletics U19 800 metre Final on Sunday last.

Our mens Tansey Cup team got their league campaign off to a winning start when they defeated Elphin on Saturday evening last in Elphin.  Final score 1-19 to 0-7.  Team: M. Feeney, D. O'Dowd, J. Filan, K. Lynch, S. O'Dowd(0-1), M. Murtagh, N. Lynch, J. O'Dowd, M. Bourke(1-7), J. Conlon, D. Beirne, S. Surlis, M. McDermott(0-7), S. Beirne(0-1), D. Conlon(0-2), F. Glancy(0-1), C. Lynch, P. Commins. Our next outing is against St. Barrys next Sunday in Tarmonbarry at 2pm.  

Kilmore/S. Gaels/St. Ronans minor side were defeated by Western Gaels and our U16s were defeated by Padraig Pearses at the weekend. The U14 Div 2 team had a comfortable win over Castlerea on Sunday morning in Kilmore.  Our Div 4 U14s team play St. Dominics this Friday evening April 5th at 6.30 in Kilmore, our Minors are also due to play St. Michaels on Fri 5th April at the same time in Ardcarne Park. Shannon Gaels U6s continue their nursery programme in the Sports Complex on a Fri evening.  Last friday evening 38 kids received new training tops, many thanks to Aisling McGovern for organising them.

Pitch Development: This Wednesday evening 3rd April we are planning to have a tidy up at the pitch in Croghan as we are in the final phase.  If you can please bring a spade, hedge clippers, strimmers or paint brushes.  The more people we get to help the better.  We will be there at 5.30 so anytime after that is fine.

Lotto Results: Lotto draw took place in Thatch Pub on Saturday night last, numbers drawn 6,10,25 & 27.  There was no winner of Jackpot.  €20 winners Lethra Orkney c/o Thatch, Cairan MacAodh Finner, Gerard Fitzgerald Carrick, Joyce Mullen Boyle C/o Bingo, Paddy Murray Flagford.  Next draw takes place in Dickies on the 13th April, Jackpot €2,600.
