LADIES FOOTBALL:
Our parish witnessed another victory celebration last weekend when our U14 girls captured the Division A County Championship Final by defeating Tuam Cortoon. The game, which was played in Menlough was a very close contest by two very evenly matched teams. The first half saw little enough scoring with Tuam Cortoon ahead by one point at half time on a scoreline of 0-05 to 0-04.  Kilkerrin Clonberne started the second half the stronger with some fine points and a goal. However Tuam Cortoon followed this by a goal of their own. Our girls pulled away and at one stage were 7 points ahead. A great fight back by Tuam Cortoon ensued. However Kilkerrin Clonberne held on to claim the title by 3 points at the final whistle. Well done to all the panel and managment. Thanks to Tuam Cortoon for a very sporting match. Thanks to all who came out to support the girls and to all who lit fires on their return to Clonberne and Kilkerrin.

Next Sunday will see another big competition in our club.  Our Senior ladies contest the Tesco HomeGrown All Ireland Senior Club Championship Semi final against Termon from Donegal.  This game will be played in Clonberne next Sunday November 16th at 2pm.  We would really appreciate your support of the ladies on this big occasion. Good luck also to Clonbur who contest the All Ireland Intermediate club championship Semi final.

Congratulations to our Senior Ladies Team who have been nominated by Galway Bay FM for team of the year. The winners will be announced at Awards Ceremony on November 29th in Loughrea Hotel and Spa. Congratulations also to Shane Walsh who has been nominated for young sports personality of the year. Best of luck to all.

More Congratulations to Aisling Walsh, Caoimhe Boyle, Claire Dunleavy, Annette Clarke, Nicola Ward, Louise Ward and Olivia Divilly who have been selected on Galway Bay FM ladies football dream team for 2014.  Well done ladies.

With all this success comes more expense and so for this reason we are asking for your continued support at our Annual Fundraising Auction in Country Inn Clonberne on Saturday night November 22nd.  This has always been a fantastic night's entertainment and this year we have country music star Jason Travers providing the music. There are some fabulous items for auction and some great spot prizes too.  BBQ also on the night. Tickets are now available from players and committee members and once again we would really appreciate your support.
